I used to read horror stories ALL the time (Stephen King was my true love in high school.) I loved the feeling of being scared. It's been a really long time since I've read a book that had me scared while reading. Forgotten had me holding my breath and reading hesitantly... nervous about what was going to happen next. I actually found myself physically tensing and gripping my kindle at times.I think what really made this scary for me was that the story was one of romantic love between Peter and Rhys. How they met... how they supported one another while becoming successful, how Peter was won over to buying this huge old farmhouse because Rhys was so in love with it and he couldn't help but make him happy. Peter and Rhys are just so happily-ever-after in love. And, it's not just a romantic love... it's a hot sexy love. So you have sweet romance, and hot sex, and day to day home remodeling... and then you randomly throw in sudden, creepy, violent, scary, spirit haunting. Yeah... I was freaked out and now I worry over noises in my house when I'm alone. (I blame the cats.)
I have to say I loved how the dual story progressed; how Peter and Rhys slowly learned the story of Alexey and Demitri. There is just something really fascinating about the idea of a spirit haunting a place, or a person, because they need to not be forgotten. They need someone to know them and their story. I felt almost relief that Peter and Rhys decided to accept and delve into the story... and not run. The book easily could have been just Peter and Rhys' story.... "Love love love, haunt, horror, scream, protect, run away, happily-ever-after". It was so much better to encompass the story behind the haunting.
The ending? LOVED it. I won't give it away... but it was an ending I definitely wasn't expecting.

Forgotten edition by Rider Jacobs Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Ah, high school! A place to learn, meet friends, have fun.......be bullied, looked down on, mistreated, and for a tragic few, being driven to suicide.
After a severe act of cruelty in his freshman year caused Casey Minton to be home schooled for eighteen months, he's finally back in public high school for his junior year. Sweet, brilliant, and gay, Casey's most pressing problem is trying to avoid being bullied by a group of cruel girls called the Queen Bees. Nate De Marco is a loner, with no real friends and a tough home life. He's determined to graduate high school no matter what. Zander Zane seems to have it all he's popular, a jock, and has all the right friends. He's also gay, but he has no plans to let anyone at school know about it. When Casey, Nate, and Zander are assigned to do a class project together, no one believes that the three boys-with nothing in common, and from totally different backgrounds-will be able to come up with much. As Casey, Nate, and Zander work on their project, the three forge an unexpected bond that rapidly deepens into love-each with the other, and as a threesome. As the three navigate the complicated, and even dangerous obstacles thrown in their path, they learn to draw on each other's strengths, be honest with each other, and stand united against the predjudice of the Queen Bees and a student body too afraid to say anything against them.
In Us Three, Mia Kerick has written a powerful, emotionally gripping character driven tale of three young men trying to navigate their way through the treacherous minefield called high school. For all too many high school is not a place of learning. Instead, it's a place of total misery, isolation, and being bullied both physically, and emotionally. It doesn''t help when teachers, parents,or other adult authority figures tell the victim "Oh, they're just joking." or "It's no big deal." or even "Suck it up, it's a part of life." With a smooth plot flow and an excellent backstory to fill in the storyline, we see the story from three different points of view-Casey's real life experiences, Nate's diary entries, and in Zander's emails to his older brother. The author's style of writing is stark, concise, and to the point. She gives an honest, unvarnished, and in-your-face look into what all too many teenagers face on a daily basis. Fortunately, this story has a HEA ending, and I absolutely adore the strength of character and loyalty displayed by all three of the MCs. I think the book should be required reading in ALL high schools, and would DEFINITELY recommend it to everyone.
I was given a copy of this book for a honest review. I really enjoyed this story. Ryes and peter are an awesome couple and their sex scenes are super hot.The story starts off slow but when it does pick up it is great. I would have liked to know more about Alexy though. I look forward to reading what this author writes next.
Received a copy, Overall Rating 3 1/2 Stars
I normally don't read books like this, this is a Male/Male paranormal story. Overall I thought the story had potential, and it was really well written, I guess it really wasn't for me. The author really knows how to tell a story. Some parts of the book I was on the edge of my seat and wanting to know what was about to happen, then I felt disappointed. I feel really bad that I am giving this book 3 1/2 Stars. I will read more books from this author. I think she is very talented and has potential!
I am not sure where to begin with this one. This book did not thrill me. The best part of this big was the prologue!! Not only did the story drag on but the main characters were a bore. This book should actually be posted as an erotic m/m thriller. I felt there was more sex than thriller. I do not have an issue reading m/m stories but it seemed at least every chapter had them going at it. But not only the two main characters, but let us also bring in the ghosts to have some fun too! But I always say that everyone reads all books differently. Maybe the next person who reads it, may actually love it. But I did not, so I give it 3 stars.
